Form meat into 4 patties and set aside.
In a pan, brown the bacon. Remove (save the fat in pan) and set on a plate with paper towels to blot off the fat. Once cooled, crumble into small pieces.
In the reserved bacon fat in the same pan, cook onion until brown. Remove and combine with the bacon.
Place the bacon mixture on one patty, followed by cheese. Top with another patty. Repeat with the remaining two. Place on a hot grill and cook to your liking, flipping once.
Makes 2 burgers.
