This is a great recipe for when you find yourself fresh out of cubesteak. While it is extremely easy, it is just as delicious. This is a great standby for unexpected company served with white gravy, homestyle green beans, a salad, and dinner rolls!
In a medium sized mixing bowl combine ground beef, oats or crackers, egg, milk, and seasonings with your hands. Form into desired patty size. Coat patties in flour (or flour/cornmeal mix if desired).
Place enough oil in large skillet or Dutch oven to come halfway up the side of each patty. Turn heat on medium -high (depending on your range top- I cook with gas). When oil is ready, place steaks in oil. Adjust heat so that the steaks do not burn. Let steaks cook approximately 2-3 minutes per side (or until steaks are no longer pink inside).
Note: Reduce salt in recipe if using other seasoning (containing salt) and salted saltine crackers.

My family loves these! Almost better than the steak ones!
