I didn’t think these had any flavor- especially the toffee layer. I was a little disappointed.

It wasn’t what my daughter and I expected. We wanted it to have more of a true toffee flavor. Still a great cookie tasting dessert, but not a recipe that made it into my ‘keep’ file.

I love old church cookbook recipes and this one is a great one! Easy to make and great to share. We have already made six batches of these. We have made them with milk chocolate and pecans, milk chocolate and toffee bits, and semi-sweet chocolate and crushed candy canes. My tip – after adding the chocolate and toppings and waiting a few minutes, score them. This makes them easier to get out of the pan later once they are all set. I also cut the squares into triangles to make 48 pieces – they are rich enough to make a little more to share!

I made these last nite and they were so good that I am making two batches right now to take to the office tomorrow morning! Super easy, super yummy! Thanks for posting this Ree!

I love toffee and can’t wait to get the ingredients so that I can make these for a party.
