Description

My Grandma made this all the time and it was always a hit. She would often make it for Wednesday Night Suppers at her church, especially in the winter months.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Chuck
  • 1  Large Yellow Onion, Chopped
  • 1  Large Green Bell Pepper, Stem And Seeds Removed, Chopped
  • 2-½ cups Canned Whole Kernel Yellow Corn, Drained
  • 2-½ cups Canned Light Or Dark Red Kidney Beans, Drained And Rinsed
  • 3 cups Canned Diced Tomatoes, Undrained
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder, You Can Add More If You Wish
  • Salt And Freshly Ground Black Pepper To Your Tastes
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Onion Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Granulated White Sugar
  • 2-½ cups Ketchup(you Can Use More If You Wish)
  • ¼ teaspoons Tabasco Sauce(you Can Add More If You Wish)

Preparation

In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, brown meat with onion and bell pepper then drain off fat. Return meat mixture to pot and add all of the other ingredients and seasonings, mix well. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes on low heat, stirring often. Serve with hot cornbread or biscuits if you wish!
