I made this a couple of days ago and we really liked it! I assume that you left the salting up to the cook, right? I thought it needed quite a bit, so I ended up adding almost a teaspoon. The amount of heat was just right, too, because we have little ones here. My two-year-old even liked it!

This is absolutely fabulous! Made it for friends over the holidays, last year, and it was a hit with everyone. It’s hearty and spicy – a bit more heat than I expected but I like that!
Thanks for sharing!

Love this! Made it several times and am now waiting for winter and the cold weather to try it again!

This was great! Perfect sweet/hot balance. Couldn’t get leeks or fresh herbs from my neighborhood market, but dried worked fine. My husband suggested I add crabmeat next time (but he says that to pretty much everything I make…).

Best soup ever. After making it last night my husband and i fixed out bowls and sat down to watch our favorite show. After about a minute we both looked at each other and said at the same time it was the best soup ever.
My husband doesn’t even like leeks or onions. And I’m not such a huge fan of sweet potatoes. But this soup is heaven.

This was really good! I only used one box of broth, and probably a cup of cream. Really delicious!

We really loved this soup! It is so delicious and comforting. I did cheat and drain some of the bacon fat. It had just the right amount of heat. This is definitely going to be in my soup rotation. Thanks!

I made this tonight and it was…so good. I only used a cup of cream and added two cups of crab meat. Thank you for this delightful recipe!

Really good! I made a vegetarian version that turned out well. Only thing I will change for next time is 1 chipotle pepper – 2 was too much spice for my taste

Although I used regular potatoes, omitted the bacon, used vegetable stock, and didn’t have any chipotle peppers in adobo (just regular jalapenos, which I used), I’m gonna go ahead and give this five mitts anyway.
This is a really yummy chowder and fairly quick to make.
I’m sure it tastes a lot more sophisticated with the proper ingredients, but Hubby raved about my simpler version nonetheless.
So thanks for a great recipe!

Oh, my. This sounds wonderful – can’t wait to try it!

LOVED this!!!! I could not find the chipotles in Adobo sauce, so instead I used a few heaping TB’s of chipotle salsa. This is such a strange blending of flavors, but it is SO GOOD! Sweet potatoes are not something we regularly eat in our home, because no one really likes them…. but this was GOOD! Really good.

Made this today for our New Year’s Day buffet. It’s awesome! It also has more of a kick to it than I expected. But, since I like spicy things it’s fine! Hubby loved it and friends who were here raved over it.
I’ll definitely make it again. Thanks for sharing!

It was such an odd combination of ingredients (to me), but tasted SO good!!!

Loved this! I made the mistake of cooking the sweet potatoes too long, so I could not cube any to put in the soup. I ended up puree-ing them all and blended that into the soup. Turned out great; my husband and I both loved it.

This soup was everything that was said previous and more. I thought it was one of the best soups I made this winter. This is on the list to do again soon. Fanastic!! Serve with salad and bread. Thank you for sharing.

This soup looks divine, but I have a question: is it possible to substitute whole milk for (at least some of) the cream? Has anyone tried to do so? Thanks so much.
