Description

A healthy and delicious cookie, perfect with a glass of milk.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Butter, Softened
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • ¾ cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

First, mix the brown sugar and granulated sugar together. Next, cream the sugar with the softened butter. Add in the egg, vanilla and milk and mix until smooth.

In a separate bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Mix the dry mixture into the wet until blended well. Once smooth, stir in the oats and the chocolate chips.

Grease a cookie sheet and place the cookie dough onto the sheet (use a teaspoon if you like smaller cookies and a tablespoon for larger cookies).

Bake at 350ºF for about 12–15 minutes (I baked mine for about 13 minutes and they were perfectly chewy).

I really liked those! Made a batch tonight, used half a dark chocolate bar chopped up in chunks instead of chocolate chips, and used 1/4 tsp of salt, I love them!! Thank you for sharing!

Baking (and eating) these right now. So delicious, and a little less guilt riden with the oats and whole wheat flour. Thanks for the great recipe. :)

I made two batches of these last night and loved them! I didn’t have enough chocolate chips so mine tasted a little too salty… but overall so good! My family loved them!

This looks like a great “Care Package” item to send to my college boy! Guess I’ll be baking this afternoon – thanks!

I was hopeful about this recipe based on the other reviews but mine didn’t turn out so great. They spread way too much in the oven and were a bit sticky even on the greased cookie sheet. I thought the milk might soak into the whole grains, but it didn’t seem to. Some extra all-purpose flour or using quick oats (or leaving out the milk) might have helped.

Me and my boys love these. I made them today. I used quick oats too and it worked really well. I recommend parchment paper if you have it. I will make these again for sure! Great recipe.

One of my new favorite cookies! Not sure if it’s more healthy than my other recipe, but it’s just as delicious.
