Description

Most peanut butter cookies are irresistible when they are warm and fresh out of the oven, but tend to dry out over the next few days. Of all the peanut butter cookie recipes I’ve tried, these are the best! They stay moist, soft, and delicious for days.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Smooth Peanut Butter (Plus An Extra Tablespoon)
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar (plus Extra For Rolling The Cookies In At The End)
  • ½ cups Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour (Plus An Extra 2 Tablespoons)
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 bag Dove's Dark Chocolate Squares (Any Chocolate Candy Will Do, 9 Ounce Bag)

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Cream together the peanut butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter in a large mixing bowl. Next, add the vanilla, milk, and egg; mix well to combine. Last, sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda and add to the creamed mixture. Mix well.

Roll cookie dough into small, 1-inch balls and roll them in granulated sugar. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for about 8 minutes (do not over-bake!).

When you remove cookies from the oven, quickly press a chocolate candy into the center of each cookie. Then, without giving the cookies any more time on the warm baking sheet, remove the cookies to a cooling rack to cool down. The chocolate will set up in about an hour or so, or you can eat them warm with the chocolate still soft and gooey! Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
