Description

I love cookies, but my hips don’t. I don’t believe in deprivation. So I came up with one of my favorites and took out half of the butter but left the YUM!

Ingredients

  • 1-¼ cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ cups Butter
  • ¼ cups Applesauce
  • ¼ cups Fat-free Plain Yogurt
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ¾ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2  Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups Old Fashioned Oats
  • ½ cups (heaping) Raisins
  • ¾ cups Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray two baking sheets with non-stick baking spray.

Combine in a small bowl: flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Set aside.

In a larger bowl beat butter, apple sauce, yogurt, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Gradually beat in the flour mixture. Stir in oats, raisins and chocolate chips.

Drop the dough by rounded teaspoons onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 10 minutes. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes. Then remove them from the pans to wire racks to cool completely.

Side note: I have gotten into the habit of using about an 1/8 of a cup less of each sugar every time I bake anything and so far everything has turned just as good with a little less sugar.
