I was always told that my brother’s ex-wife brought one good thing into our family: this Chocolate Chip recipe. Ha! Really though, one of the best cookie recipes I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many. The extra brown sugar and vanilla leave these cookies soft and chewy for days (if they last that long!).
Preheat your oven to 375ºF. Mix dry ingredients and set aside. Cream together the butter, shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla. After this is all mixed together, slowly add the dry ingredients. When that is all combined, stir in the chocolate chips. With a cookie scoop, drop scoops (1-2 tablespoons in size) on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake between 8-9 minutes. I like them to be a little undercooked as it makes a softer cookie in the long run. Enjoy!
