Description

A healthy breakfast dish made with semolina and it tastes brilliant.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Onion Finely Minced
  • 1 whole Green Bell Pepper, Finely Minced
  • 1 whole Red Tomato, Finely Minced
  • 1 cup Natural Yogurt Without Sugar
  • ¾ cups Semolina
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • ½ Tablespoons Black Pepper Powder
  • 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil, Divided
  • 4 slices Bread
  • ½ teaspoons Chili Flakes
  • ½ teaspoons Dried Oregano

Preparation

1. In a mixing bowl, mix onions, bell pepper, tomato, yogurt and semolina. Mix well till it forms a thick paste. You can add more yogurt if you feel the mixture is very thick but it should not be liquid.
2. Add salt and pepper to the paste and set aside for 5 minutes for semolina to absorb yogurt.
3. In a nonstick flat pan, pour 2 tablespoons oil to cover the surface and place 2 bread slices next to each other. Make sure your gas flame is on low otherwise the lower side of bread will toast too much.
4. Take a spoonful of paste and spread over each bread in a thin layer. Do not make the layer thick or it will not cook evenly and won’t taste good.
5. Drizzle a little of the remaining oil over the thin layer of paste and flip the bread so that the paste side facing down. Now you can turn the gas flame on high.
6. Cook for about 3-4 minutes and then carefully flip it to the other side. If the bread topping is properly cooked and set, it will easily come off without sticking to the pan. If you feel it is still sticking, give it a couple of minutes to cook and then try flipping it again.
7. Place on the serving plate and sprinkle chili flakes and oregano on top.
8. Repeat with the remaining bread slices.

Enjoy!
