Description

Creamy and sweet, with tart fresh cranberries, this oatmeal is full of warm winter spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ cups Milk Of Choice
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ cups Fresh Or Frozen Cranberries
  • ½ cups Rolled (old Fashioned) Oats
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Ginger
  • 1 pinch Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 pinch Ground Cloves
  • 1 pinch Ground Cardamom
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Half-and-half For Serving

Preparation

Add water, milk, salt, and cranberries to a small pot over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then simmer until cranberries burst, about 2 minutes.

Reduce heat to medium or medium-low. Add the oats and spices and cook until the oatmeal absorbs the liquid, 5-7 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, then sweeten to taste.

Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with half-and-half.
