Description

Easy buttermilk biscuits without the hassle of rolling and cutting.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Unbleached All-purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Cold Buttermilk
  • ½ cups Unsalted Butter, Melted And Slightly Cooled, Plus 1 Tablespoon For Brushing On Baked Biscuits

Preparation

Preheat oven to 475 degrees F. In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt. In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk and 1/2 cup unsalted melted butter, stirring with a rubber spatula until the butter forms small clumps. Mixture will still be somewhat watery but the butter should have formed quite a few lumps. Add buttermilk to the dry ingredients and stir with a spatula until just combined and the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Drop by large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place on the middle rack and bake for 12-14 minutes until tops are golden brown. Brush with remaining melted butter and let sit for a few minutes before serving.

These are so easy to make! I used half all purpose flour and half whole wheat, and they were really tasty! Hub gave them two thumbs up!

These were great. I have made them twice. Once “plain” and another with a chunk of cheddar cheese tucked inside of the dough. Wonderful!

These were super easy and so much tastier than the box mix that I will never use again!

I liked these- I would never have thought to use that much butter or that high of an oven temperature… but now I doubt I will go back to frozen. SO simple!
