I make these breadsticks at least weekly. Here are a few of their merits: they are fast (no long rising times!), they are versatile (use what spices you have on hand!), they are really hard to mess up (trust me, I know!), and they are so delicious, I challenge you to eat just one!
Mix all ingredients (except melted butter) in a large bowl or electric mixer and knead for three minutes. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spread melted butter onto an 11×17-inch baking sheet. Roll out the breadstick dough about 1/4 to 1/2-inch thick and cut into strips with a pizza cutter. Twist slightly if desired and place about 1/2-inch apart on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with garlic salt, herbs of choice (I vary this depending on my mood, but it usually consists of rosemary, basil, or thyme in some form and crushed finely) and parmesan cheese. Cover with greased plastic wrap and let rise for 30 minutes.
Bake for 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees until golden brown.

Great recipe. I’ve made it several times AND I used it to make PIZZA DOUGH!
Follow the instructions and let it rise for just 10 minutes and then spread it on a half sheet pan! Instant pizza doughy goodness. Bake at 450F for 10 minutes and broil 3 inches from the broiler for 5 minutes with what ever toppings you like!

I’m making them as we speak. These are foolproof!

These were so yummy. Coating the pan in butter makes a nice crisp bottom and the breadsticks themselves are light and fluffy-awesome combination!I mix the dough in my breadmaker (on the dough cycle) so the dough takes a couple minutes to whip up. I didn’t put any of the herbs on them because my children would revolt, but I add melted butter and parmesan cheese after they came out of the oven..I know, naught naughty, but so delicious!

Wish there were a thumbs up button, or a ‘like’ button. These were delicious using the Oven Ham Sammies recipe with them. My family is in awe!
