Basic and comfortable.
1. In a large pot,melt a stick of butter over medium heat. Add the celery and the chopped onion to the pot and cook until the onion becomes translucent, gently stirring from time to time.
2. Add in the potatoes and just cover them with the water. Add the salt and the pepper, then cover the pot and let the potatoes cook until they become tender.
3. Pour in the .cold milk, then add the dried parsley and sugar. Cook through, until the soup thickens and the flavors are well blended.
4. Adjust seasonings to fit your preference.
