Description

Quick, light, and fresh. You probably already have all the ingredients in your kitchen!

Ingredients

  • ½ sticks Butter
  • 2 cups Onion, Diced
  • 2 cups Celery, Diced
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • ½ cups Flour
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Chicken Bouillon
  • ½ teaspoons Marjoram
  • 1 bunch Broccoli, Trimmed And Coarsely Chopped
  • 1 dash Salt And Pepper, As Needed
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (optional)

Preparation

In soup pot, melt butter. Saute onions, celery and garlic until soft.

Gradually add in flour and combine until pasty.

Slowly add milk, water, bouillon and marjoram.

Stir over medium heat until the soup thickens a bit and boils.

Add in broccoli. Cook a few minutes until the broccoli is done to your liking.

Add salt and pepper if necessary.

Serve hot and top with shredded cheese.

This soup is delicious and filling. I followed the recipe exactly, but cut the celery down by half. Everyone enjoyed it!

This is a really great recipe. I have made it twice now and my husband, who usually doesn’t like veggies, loves it. I served it last night was crusty french bread and it was amazing!
