Great easy hearty soup for those cold wintry nights. Serve with your favorite crunchy bread!
In a large pot, brown bacon first, do not drain. Add onion, cook till translucent. Add chicken stock and the water and all the seasonings. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Add potatoes and clams, simmer another 30 minutes until potatoes are tender. Add milk and margarine and stir. Bring back to medium heat 10 minutes, then slowly add instant potatoes, stirring constantly until thickened. Enjoy!
