A Portuguese soup that is great any time of the year. But even better during the cold weather.
In a large pot over medium heat, brown sausage. Add onions and continue until onions are cooked thoroughly.
Drain as much fat as possible then add chicken broth, milk, half-and-half, oregano, salt, pepper and crushed red chili flakes to the pot. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add potatoes and kale, cover and simmer for at least 20 minutes.
Taste and enjoy.
