This comforting soup is so good on a cold winter night. Just add some toasty French bread and you’ve got a great meal.
Melt butter in a large kettle. Add flour and stir to make a paste. Add milk, stirring constantly until well blended. Add salt, pepper and potatoes.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Turn to low and simmer 10 minutes. Add sour cream and heat through.
Garnish with cheese, bacon and chives.
