A great and easy way to get your family to eat their greens!
Slice bacon into 1/4 inch pieces. Cook in a large skillet until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels and discard bacon grease.
Place skillet back onto medium to medium high heat. Melt butter and saute onions 5 minutes. Wash Brussels sprouts and peel any dirty leaves off. Slice Brussels sprouts into thin strips/pieces so they look shredded. Stir into the hot skillet and saute 10 minutes or until tender. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in bacon. Pour onto a serving platter and top with chopped cashews. Serve warm.

I’ve been making this yummy recipe from my grandmother for years. we steam whole and cut in half then place in pan with cooked bacon and onions with 1tsp of the bacon grease she would like the addition of the cashews. I will add next time I make it or maybe almonds . glad you posted this.

I’m 33 and never touched a brussel sprout in my life. The picture got me here, as well as the shredded appearance. Me and my husband loved the dish and ate it until it was gone the following evening. This did not go over well with my digestive system-just a slight word of caution-it was that good!! Try it!

I hated brussels sprouts as a child and even as an adult turned my nose up at it. This recipe caught my eye and I had to go buy some. I am so glad I did. It made the kitchen smell wonderful and tasted heavenly! I used Applewood smoked bacon in mine which added a nice flavor. Now I love brussels sprouts!
