Description

Think making your own apple butter is difficult? Well, not anymore. It’s easy when you use your crock pot. This apple butter tastes MUCH better than anything you’ve ever had from a store.

Ingredients

  • 10 whole Apples (Fuji Works Well), Peeled, Cored And Chopped
  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoons Cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

Fill a slow cooker with all the ingredients. Cover and cook on High for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Reduce heat to Low, simmer, stirring occasionally for 9 hours or until thick and dark brown in color. (Leave the lid propped open so the mixture can cook down.) Use a hand blender to smooth everything out. If it’s not thick enough, cook for an additional hour. Keep refrigerated, or place into freezer containers and freeze.

Just the recipe I was looking for… I cut the sugar in half and it still tastes wonderful! This will be a wonderful treat to pull out of the freezer in the middle of a long winter!

Made this over night last night and it came out amazing! My sister walked into the house and said it smelled like heaven. I love apple butter, and am so pleased to be able to easily make my own now!

Fabulous!! I only tweaked the recipe….used a cup of brown sugar out of necessity and doubled the cinnamon/cloves because we like those spices. A LOT! LOL! Sooooooooo easy and the results are amazing! Thanks so much!!
