Description

Make corn dogs at home! Save the money you would normally spend on street vendors during festivals and carnivals while having fun in the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil, For Frying
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ cups Milk
  • ½ cups Yellow Cornmeal
  • ½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • ⅛ teaspoons Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 6 whole Beef Franks Or Hot Dogs

Preparation

Heat oil on the stove. If you have a fryer, get that ready. I used a pan on my stove on high heat.

Mix the milk and egg together, set aside.

In separate bowl combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt and pepper and baking powder. Mix together then add the milk/egg mixture.

Spear the hotdogs with your skewers and roll in batter.

Fry em up!

Let dry on paper towels. Serve!

My kids love corn dogs and I must admit, so do I! What I love about these is that you have control over the quality of hot dogs used.

I know my kids will love this. I can’t wait to try it. My 2 year old daughter and 9 year old son love corn dogs. Thank you for posting this recipe.

These sounds delish! I don’t have any children but I know my husband would get a kick of them!

Made these for my kiddos the other night and it was super simple! My kids loved them. The only thing I did different was to cut the hot dogs in thirds and made mini corn dogs.

I tried this tonight, they taste good but the batter seemed to be runny. Next time i’m going to change the recipe a little but overall they were good.
