This recipe makes the moistest, prettiest, best roast turkey for Thanksgiving!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Rinse turkey, pat dry. Gently loosen breast skin and insert pieces of butter between skin & breast. Place apples inside cavity. Sprinkle with garlic powder, & salt & pepper to taste. (Add spices depending on your taste – poultry seasoning, fresh garlic as opposed to powder, herbs de Provence, etc…)
Place turkey in roasting bag and pour champagne over the inside & outside of the bird. Close bag & place turkey in a roasting pan.
Bake 3 – 3.5 hours or until the internal temp reaches 180 degrees F measured in the meatiest part of the thigh.
Remove from bag & let stand approx 20 minutes before carving.
