Description

Real hot chocolate, made with dark chocolate and whole milk. It’s like drinking chocolate pudding.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Chocolate (preferably Dark)
  • 3-½ cups Whole Milk
  • ½ cups Heavy Cream
  • 3 teaspoons Maple Syrup Or Natural Sweetener Of Choice
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

1. Chop chocolate very finely.

2. In a medium saucepan, bring milk and cream to a low simmer over medium heat, whisking occasionally.

3. Add chocolate, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt. Whisk vigorously until all of the chocolate has melted. Cook for an additional 4 minutes, whisking constantly.

4. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

This looks yummy. I am going to substitute coconut milk for my lactose intolerant family.

I’m throwing my powdered mix away! This is amazing. I used 30 individual Dove dark chocolate pieces. Perfection!

Excellent! I halved the recipe for my husband & I and used half & half in place of the milk & cream (I had a bunch left over from another recipe) and used high-quality bittersweet chocolate chips (didn’t chop them at all) and it turned out wonderfully. Made it twice in the last week, it was so delicious. Even my husband says he likes it so much more than the powdered stuff.
