Description

The perfect cookie for your Valentine’s Day tea. Also a great gift to give to your special someone, using seasonal M&M’s.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Unsalted Butter, Room Temperature
  • ¾ cups Light Brown Sugar, Packed
  • ¼ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg, Room Temperature
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 11-½ ounces, weight Valentine's Day Mix Milk Chocolate M&M's
  • Red And White Sparkling Sugar

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F.

In a mixing bowl using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars for 3 minutes, on medium speed. Add the egg; mix for 1 minute on medium speed. Add the vanilla; mix for 1 minute on medium speed.

Sift the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt together in a small bowl. Gradually add the flour mixture to the other ingredients and mix on low-speed, just until combined. Use a silicone spatula to mix in the M&M’s.

Use a cookie scoop or a tablespoon to make rounded dough mounds, and then dip the top of them in the sparkling sugar. Place on a Silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheet leaving about 2 inches between them.

Bake for 10 minutes.

I love homemade cookies. These look like they are a little thicker than most cookies. Is that true?
I think Tea Cookies probably are a little thicker than the regular. I will have to try these soon.
Your photography was very colorful and pleasing to the eye.
