Description

The BEST chocolate chip cookies. Ever!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter, Slightly Melted
  • 1 whole Egg, Room Temperature, Slightly Beaten
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-⅓ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Cream together butter, egg, and vanilla until just combined. In a large bowl, mix all of your dry ingredients (yes, even the sugars). Dump all of your dry ingredients into your wet ingredients and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. With a cookie scoop, take a scoop of dough then press it out into your hands and hand roll the dough into a ball. Repeat process and bake cookies in a preheated 350-degree oven for 10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookie start to turn golden brown. Do not overcook them or else they will come out crispy!

Kaitlin, these cookies came out FANTASTIC. You’ve officially replaced my standard cookie recipe! Your method of combining sugar with the dry ingredients rather than with the butter is unusual… how did you come up with that idea? It makes for a perfect cookie texture… soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. Thanks so much for sharing!

This SOUND delicious…and I agree with Margis, the picture looks incredible! :) I will be trying these tomorrow. I am in search of the ultimate CHEWY chocolate chip cookie. For some reason every recipe I try turns out … not chewy…either undercooked, or too hard. Any extra tips on knowing during the baking process when they are just right?

Very good. Soft and chewy all over. We substituted half of the chocolate chips with the butterscotch chips, and it was delicious.

I decided to go the Vegan route with these cookies and they were very delicious. I used vegan butter, ground flax seed in place of the egg and vegan chocolate chips. The cookies still came out chewy. In fact, I liked them even better the next day. I know I didn’t stick to the recipe but if the vegan version was good then I can believe that the posted version is even better!

Pretty good. Not the best I’ve had though.
