An oatmeal cookie with some spices you will most likely not find in others. Super, super, tasty.
Note: using “old-fashioned” oats is preferable, but I’ve even used “quick-cooking” oats and it works fine.
1. Preheat oven to 375F
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, spices (ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, red pepper), salt, and baking soda. (You could sift them… but… using a whisk does the same thing – minus the tedious clean-up of a sifter.) Set aside.
3. Beat the sugars (white and brown) with the 2 sticks of butter.
4. Add in the egg and vanilla and combine well.
5. Add in the flour mixture (thoroughly combine).
6. Add in the oats and raisins. (Again… combine well),
7. Bake for 9-10 minutes.
8. Remove from oven; let the cookies set on the hot pan for a few minutes … then transfer to cooling racks.

This looks like a great recipe! Those are almost exactly the same spices I use for my sweet-and-spicy pumpkin seeds I make every October. I look forward to making these and will leave a review of the presumed awesomeness.
