Delicious soft sugar cookies.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add shortening and cut in like pie crust. Add sugar and eggs.
In a separate bowl, mix baking soda into the sour cream. Add sour cream mixture to the flour mixture. Add vanilla and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator. Dough can keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375ºF. Roll out dough, cut in desired shapes, and bake for 6–8 minutes, or until edges are slightly browned.
Glaze, frost, or decorate as desired, but these are also delicious plain. Enjoy!
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
