Description

This recipe is from my childhood. I’ve been making these same cookies since I was 9. They are easy to make and a great cookie to make as a family. Kids just love rolling them in the cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Butter, Softened
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ teaspoons Soda
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1-¼ cup Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon (for Rolling)
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar (for Rolling)

Preparation

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees

* Cream together: Softened butter, Sugar and Egg until smooth.

* Add Baking Soda and Salt. Stir well.

* Add Flour and stir.

* In a separate bowl mix 1 T sugar and 1 T cinnamon.

* Roll dough into balls and roll into cinnamon/sugar mixture.

* Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes

Tasty and simple! It is a small amount of cookies, and it is a good thing because I am tempted to eat them all right now!

Next time, I will definitely triple or quadruple the recipe – this did not make as many cookies as I would have liked! Very tasty though!

This has become my go-to cookie recipe. Absolutely magnificent and so simple I don’t even need to read the recipe any more – I can make these babies from memory!
