Description

These cookies definitely show ‘em how much you love ‘em! A mix of peanut butter and chocolate is a sure way to please!

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup Butter, Softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1-½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1-½ cup Quick Oats
  • 1 package (12 Oz. Bag) Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 package (12 Oz. Package) Various Colors Melting Chocolate Wafers

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter and sugars. Add peanut butter, vanilla, and eggs. Mix well. Slowly add flour, soda, salt and oats. Mix until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes. Remove to wire racks. When completely cooled, you can decorate with chocolate.

Melt chocolate wafers in the microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir and continue cooking in 15-second intervals until completely smooth. The easiest way to decorate the cookies is to place melted chocolate in a zipper bag and snip the end off.

Have a wonderful time decorating and enjoy!

When I tried this recipe, it made a very sticky drop cookie batter. The cookies flatten completely shortly after coming out of the oven, but they are soft and chewy. The milk choc chips are a must–I used semi-sweet, because that’s what I had in the cupboard, but it’s a not-very-sweet and quite-salty cookie, so it needs the milk choc. Bottom line, I think this is a good, but not great, cookie recipe. I’d probably reach for a traditional peanut butter cookie or a traditional oatmeal cookie recipe rather than try this one again.
