Description

A delicious switch up for the classic s’more.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Marshmallows
  • 1 Tablespoon (heaping) Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 cup Graham Crackers, Broken Into Coarse Pieces
  • 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Butter an 8 x 8 inch square pan.

In a large, microwave-safe bowl, place the marshmallows, butter and vanilla in the microwave until the marshmallows begin to soften, about a minute. Mix with a spatula and microwave for another minute until the marshmallows are fully melted. Add the rice krispies until just mixed together. Add the graham cracker chunks and chocolate chips to combine.

Press the mixture into the prepared pan. Allow to cool and devour.

Just a warning: these 16 squares are on the smaller side—so you can eat more.

I liked these with chocolate chips but read about concerns regarding “s’mores flavor” and I think to solve that problem, maybe freeze a few chopped up hershey’s bars and mix that into the base. Also toss in some un-melted marshmallows for extra marshmallow punch. Delicious!!

Quick and easy little treat to make. Think I’ll take the above advice and add less chocolate chips next time. Thanks for sharing.

Yum! I don’t know if they taste exactly like s’mores because it’s been a while since I’ve had one (no graham crackers anywhere in Germany), but these were delicious! I think with rice krispies they’d have been even better (I had to use crisped wheat-thingies, because – you guessed it – rice krispies are hard to find in Germany), if that’s possible.
So thanks for a very easy and satisfying dessert! (Hubby took one bite, looked at me and said: “Whoa, how great are these!?”)

I dialed back the graham crackers and chocolate chips the first time I made these. Next time I’ll just dial back the chocolate chips. Also, I used cinnamon-sugar graham crackers and bittersweet chocolate chips and the flavor profile was amazing. I love s’mores anything and these were no exception. Amazing flavor! Will make again and again!

These were a hit at a party over the weekend where we had actual smores and then these treats for those who didn’t want to be bothered with the real thing. Good stuff. I think I’ll add less chocolate chips next time as well because they did melt right in and give it more of a chocolate krispie flavor.

I read the other two reviews and made the bars in hopes I’d really taste the ‘s’mores’ in them. While they were good (more chocolatety than anything), I just didn’t pick up the actual s’mores taste. However, the boyfriend claimed the whole pan!
