A family friend of mine, Sandie, makes these cookies all the time! They are definitely my favorite chocolate chip cookies. But make sure you don’t over-bake them!
Note: This makes a lot of cookies! It makes somewhere around 5 dozen. I usually freeze the dough that I don’t use or halve the recipe.
Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Blend well. Add chocolate chips.
Bake at 375ºF for 8 minutes. Start the first sheet on the bottom shelf, cook for 4 minutes. Move to the top shelf and add the second sheet. Cook for 4 minutes. Keep it up until all the cookies are baked. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 1–2 minutes, then remove to a cooling rack.
Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies, so you better be hungry or have at least have some boys around that are hungry.

Wow! That’s crazy stacey! I have no idea where Sandie got this recipe, but she’s used it for years! I’ll have to ask her where she got it! I love these cookies, they’re so soft and fluffy.

This looks to be the same recipe (or close) to the cookie recipe I used to use as a kid. My mom had ripped it out of a cookbook and used it for years! I’ll have to find it and compare them. The recipe even called them chococlate chippers too!
