A classic cookie recipe elevated to another level with the addition of coarse salt.
1. Preheat oven to 325°F. In a large bowl whisk together the brown sugar, sugar and butter until softened and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until incorporated. Add in the vanilla and continue to mix. Sift the flour, baking soda and salt into the mixture and mix to combine. Pour in the chocolate chips and shaved chocolate and fold until well distributed.
2. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of the mixture onto a parchment paper-lined sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
3. Place the sheet into the preheated 325°F oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until the bottom is slightly browned.
4. Remove pan from the oven. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to slightly cool. Sprinkle the coarse sea salt over top.
5. Serve.
