These cookies are the perfect way to get your kids in the kitchen. There’s so much for them to help with—mixing, rolling, decorating. And eating, of course!
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat shortening and peanut butter until well blended. Add sugars and beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well.
Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into the peanut butter mixture. Shape dough into 1″ balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Immediately insert broken pretzel antlers, then m&m noses, then mini chocolate chip eyes. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.

These looked incredibly cute, so we tried to make them to leave out for Santa tonight. Unfortunately, they didn’t work for us. Too crumbly. I don’t think the proportions of shortening to flour are correct.

I just made some reindeer. Working fast is an understatement. I think 1 out of every 4 made actually had all the pieces intact. My friend doesnt mind as he is told he can eat the mutant ones, so he is taking home a lot of pieces. I think the kids I made these for will love them so all in all something to check off my list. No way 4 dozen came out, I ended up with about 27 cookies.
