Description

If you want to make a very quick, very easy dessert that also happens to yield impressive results, whip out some puffed pastry and make an apple tart. It’ll become one of your go-to desserts in no time flat.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Sheet Puffed Pastry, Thawed And Cut In Half
  • 4 whole Apples, Cored, Halved And Sliced Very Thin
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 dash Salt
  • Powdered Sugar, For Serving
  • Caramel Sauce, For Serving

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Place puffed pastry rectangles onto a baking pan that’s been sprayed with nonstick spray. Add sugar and salt to apples. Stir to combine. Allow to sit for a few minutes.

Arrange apple slices on the pastry rectangles in a straight line, overlapping as you go. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Remove from pan immediately and place on a serving platter. Serve plain, with caramel topping, whipped cream, and/or a sprinkling of powdered sugar.

I was looking for an easy apple dessert and this was perfect. I used Splenda’s brown sugar mix and added a little cinnamon. Very yummy!

Delicious, and (best of all) really simple! Just made this last night for our Bible study. Thanks for another winner, Ree.
(Like margaretha, I also had leftover apples–4 yielded enough for 2 whole puff pastry sheets, with still some left for our oatmeal the next morning)

You weren’t kidding when you said it was quick and easy. I ended up having a ton of leftover sliced apples, so next time I’ll probably only slice up 2. I sliced them really thin. Very yummy, not too sweet.
