I adapted this recipe from the one that used to be on the back of the Quaker Oats can. I was never fond of raisins but they needed a little something more.
These are requested often from my husband’s work for potlucks and my kid’s schools, too.
Because of the increased amount of oats, I don’t feel guilty about letting the kids have them either.
1. Heat oven to 350F.
In large bowl, beat butter and sugars until creamy, add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
Add combined flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg, mix well.
Mix in oatmeal one cup at a time. Fold in chocolate chips.
2. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Cool 1 minute on sheet, then remove to cooling rack, cool completely. Store tightly covered.
