Description

Just the aroma of these cookies reminds me of my childhood. My mother and I would make them together, and I believe that is where my love for baking began. This would be a great recipe to share with the wee ones (or even let them try it on their own) in order to cultivate their love for baking.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Peanutbutter Cookie Mix
  • 1 bag Chocolate Kisses
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar

Preparation

{NOTE: You could substitute the peanut butter cookie mix for some homemade peanut butter cookie dough, and that would make these cookies that much better!}

First, heat the oven to 375. Then, mix up the peanut butter cookie dough according to the directions.

Second, roll up the dough into one inch balls.

Third, roll the balls of dough in the sugar to make a nice coating.

Fourth, place onto an ungreased baking sheet, and then place into the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the edges are slightly golden.

While the cookies are baking, unwrap some kisses.

Then take out the piping hot peanut butter cookies, and while trying your best not to eat them all, top with a kiss!

It is important that after you put the kisses on the cookies, you transfer them quickly to a cookie rack to cool. If you do not do this, the kiss will loose it’s lovely shape. Also, the kisses will not completely set if it is slightly warm in your home. So, I recommend after a half hour of cooling on the racks, putting the cookies in the refrigerator until they do set.

And as always, don’t forget to keep them in an airtight container at room temperature. I know you will enjoy this great childhood recipe!
