Description

These are the “it” cookies in our house. I double the recipe, bake 5 dozen and freeze the other 5 dozen. My kids choose these over all other available snacks.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter Or Margarine (2 Sticks), Softened
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2-½ cups Flour
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 package Chocolate Chips (12 Oz)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Combine butter/margarine, peanut butter, sugars and eggs until well blended.

Stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture until well blended. Add the chocolate chips.

Roll dough into tablespoon size balls, place on cookie sheet and slightly flatten with three fingers. Bake for 8-10 minutes until cracked and slightly golden.

(I don’t use a separate bowl for the flour mixture. I add 1 1/2 cups of the flour, baking soda, powder and salt. I stir this until well combined, and then add the final cup of flour and stir again.

I also don’t use cookie sheets – I bake on stones that I only use for cookies. But I have been making these for years, long before I started using stones. You just have to watch them much more carefully on cookies sheets so that they don’t burn.)

Super easy and very yummy! My husband said “Good cookies” and my 6 year old yelled “VERY!” :)

Mmmm. I made these for our Easter Party…there were only 6 left and a little girl asked me if she could take them home! They were very, very good. Easy to make too. I used Ghiardelli Chips and the taste was incredible!

I have recently made these twice and taken them to events. Everyone raved over them and there were none left to take home (much to my children’s disappointment). A favorite cookie for sure.

Wow, these are simply amazing! I’m always looking for good peanut butter recipes and this really fits the bill. I do enjoy chocolate too but I wanted more of the taste of peanut butter so I only used about 1/2 of a package of the chocolate chips. They turned out perfect! Thanks for the recipe!

These cookies are excellent! I’ve been looking for a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie recipe, who doesn’t love this combination and this one is a keeper! Made exactly to the directions, baked them on regular non-stick cookie sheet. I loved them as did my daughter. Even after day 2 they were still very soft.

These are the best chocolate peanut butter cookies I’ve had, and I have been on the hunt for a recipe box keeper for a while now! Perfect instructions and the timing is just right in my oven at about 9 minutes. I also froze most of these as the recipe provides about 50 cookies. WONDERFUL cookies!!

This is by far the best recipe i’ve ever made for cookies. They don’t last a day in my house.
