Description

Simple, quick and easy cookies!

Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 whole Sheets Of Frozen Puff Pastry

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
2. In a small bowl, combine the salt and sugar.
3. Sprinkle 1/4 of the sugar mixture onto a cutting board. Lay 1 unfolded puff pastry sheet (while putting the other back in the fridge to stay cold) on top of the sugar and sprinkle on another 1/4 of the sugar mixture. Using a rolling pin, press the sugar into the dough while rolling out the sheet to roughly 12 inches by 12 inches.
4. Take two opposite ends of the puff pastry and fold until it reaches halfway to the middle of the dough. Then fold over those folds so they reach the middle and touch. Then fold one half on top of the other to that all the layers are on top of each other. You will have 6 layers.
5. Cut the dough into 1/4 inch sections. I usually cut the big sheet in half, then in half again and then into sixths.
6. Place the cookies on a parchment paper lined (this is important!) cookie sheet.
7. Repeat with the other sheet of puff pastry and the remaining sugar mixture.
8. Place the cookies in the preheated oven for 6 minutes. Then switch the placement of the cookie sheets so they bake evenly and bake for another 5-6 minutes until the cookies are nice and golden brown!
9. Remove pans from the oven and set on a rack. Let the cookies cool (also important!) and then enjoy!
