Description

Classic chocolate chip cookies with a hint of saltiness with the addition of nuts.

Ingredients

  • 1-⅛ cup All-purpose Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ cups Salted Butter, Softened
  • ¼ cups Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ teaspoons Salt (to Bring Out Extra Salty Flavor)
  • ½ cups Chocolate Chips
  • ⅓ cups Nuts Of Choice (I Used Sliced Almonds And Chopped Peanuts)
  • Sprinkling Of Sea Salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F/180 C and line a baking sheet with baking/parchment paper or a Silpat.

Combine flour and baking soda in a small bowl.

Using a stand mixer or large bowl and an electric mixer, beat together the butter and both sugars until creamy.. Add vanilla, egg and salt, beating until well incorporated. Add flour mixture in small 1/4 cup at a time, only adding more when it is well combined, until all the flour mixture is added. Turn off stand or electric mixer and stir in the chocolate chips and nuts using a spoon.

Drop small scoops of the batter onto pan, making sure they are far enough apart that they dont run into one another, about an inch or two. Sprinkle the tops with sea salt if desired.

Bake until golden on the edges, about 8-10 minutes.
