Description

Can’t remember which magazine I found this in, but they are heavenly and taste very similar to a Kit Kat bar. They are very rich.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Club Crackers
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 1 cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Whole Milk
  • ⅓ cups White Sugar
  • ⅔ cups Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • ½ cups Butterscotch Chips

Preparation

Line an ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan with a layer of crackers.

In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, milk and white sugar.

Bring to a boil, then continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and pour 1/2 of mixture evenly over crackers.

Put another layer of crackers on top, then pour remaining sauce on those crackers.

Top with one last layer of crackers.

In a new saucepan, combine peanut butter, chocolate chips and butterscotch chips and melt over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Spread evenly over crackers.

Chill for at least one hour and then cut into bars.

Store in fridge.

I made these and took them to work. They were good. They look similar to Kit Kat Bars and I think they would taste more like Kit Kats if you left out the butterscotch chips and added more chocolate chips. I used milk chocolate chips rather than semi sweet to help replicate the taste of a candy bar.

My mother in law loved these when I made them while she visited us last fall. They are so good, it’s hard to stop at just one!
