Do you remember the old school cafeteria peanut butter balls? I never knew they were packed with so much nutrition; I just knew they were good. Peanut butter, oatmeal, powdered milk, honey and wheat germ all rolled up into yummy little treat balls. These are my little guy’s favorite after school snack.
Mix all together with hand mixer. Form into balls with your hands and freeze on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper until firm. Remove from the freezer and store in a large Ziploc bag in the refrigerator.
You can also leave out the wheat germ if you do not have any on hand. It won’t alter the texture or taste. It was just a perk I added to sneak in some goodness.
Recipe yields approximately 50 peanut butter balls.

The recipe I currently use doesn’t have the oatmeal or wheat germ. I can’t wait to try these. Love your blog!

Toasting the Wheat Germ gives it a nice woodsy flavor too. It’s REALLY good. Just get out the pan and slightly brown the Wheat Germ…add to any recipe.
Thanks for this recipe!

Oh that sounds so yummy. I love that they are even healthier with the flaxseed added.

these were a huge hit with my kids. I added a little flax seed & used almond butter.
