A fun and whimsical meringue cookie.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees
In a mixer whip egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar. Continue to whip until stiff peaks form. Add sugar (while continuing to whip) 1 T at a time. Add vanilla.
Spoon meringue into a pastry bag. Using the “star tip,” pipe meringue onto a parchment lined cookie sheet .
Add garnish of your choice. Bake for 90 minutes.
~Cookies can also be spooned onto parchment paper. No pastry bag needed!
Garnish:
cherries
sprinkles
nuts
cocoa powder
