I followed the recipe and it looks like it’ll taste wonderful. However, a small amount of butter separated from the mixture. What did I do wrong?

WOW!! Soooo simple and scrumptious!! Here is what I used: my microwave (1000 watt), a 2 quart, 8″ pyrex square casserole heavily buttered, scharfenberger chocolate (though frankly I think tollhouse would have been just as good) and recipe as written with one exception; after I put the last layer of pecans on the chocolate, I then grinded sea salt very lightly over the top. YUM! I was sceptical… i even put parchment in the microwave under my pyrex. it bubbled and bubbled, but never bubbled over! set the timer for 15 minutes, added the vanilla, reset for 3 minutes and thought it would never be done enough in that time. Watched constantly the last 3 mins and stopped it 10 seconds short of the three minutes and it was perfect. Thanks for the great and super easy recipe!

This is scrumptious ! Follow the directions and you can’t go wrong. I have made 6 batches so far, each one perfect. I have given as gifts in holiday tins and everyone has ask for the recipe !!! Thank you sooooo much for the perfect toffee.

Great recipe! Worked exactly as written but the nuts on the pan spread unevenly. Can you add the nuts to the toffee before pouring it out? Thanks for making this easier!

Wow, when this stuff burns, it is horrible!!! Luckily, I only made a half batch, so I made another, and adjusted my time by a few minutes, and it turned out MUCH better! I can’t wait to play around with this recipe – maybe use crushed candy canes for Christmas, I’m sure I’ll have fun experimenting with it! Thanks for posting!
