Every summer my family visits the Jersey Shore and every summer I look forward to chocolate fudge from The Original Fudge Kitchen in Cape May. Since I have a few more months before our summer vacation, I decided to make the fudge at home for Christmas.
Prep a 9×9 pan by lining with foil, allowing the foil to hang over two sides of the dish for easy removal.
Combine chocolate and condensed milk in the top of a double boiler, with simmering water in the bottom. Since I do not have a double boiler, I fake it with a glass bowl sitting on top of a pot with some boiling water (just make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water).
Stir chocolate and condensed milk until melted and combined, about 5 to 7 minutes. Be sure to keep stirring so the mixture does not burn.
When melted through, quickly transfer mixture to the prepared 9×9 pan. Smooth to an even layer using a spatula. You should move quickly as the fudge will set. Top with walnuts and lightly press the nuts into the top.
Refrigerate for 2 hours to let set. Remove from pan and cut into bite size pieces. Enjoy!
