I love Ree’s recipes so I spent some time on devil dogs this afternoon. Followed the recipe to the letter. Hmmm…the cake itself isn’t very chocolate-y. I was hoping it would be more like a devil’s food cake consistency and flavor. I also made the white frosting with the flour and milk base. It has a very strong flour after taste and isn’t as nice as a real buttercream. I wouldn’t make either the cake or the frosting again without tweaking both for more flavor.

These devil dogs are out of this world! They stay moist for such a long time and the frosting is to die for!

These were awesome…the cake amazing, the frosting, over the top! Everybody needs to make this frosting….it has the texture of whipped cream but the flavor of vanilla bean ice cream….words cannot do it justice….this was such a cute, fun dessert!

these were awesome! I did use a different frosting recipe since I didn’t like the texture of the frosting featured in the recipe

Amazing, easy to make and very good! I didn’t whip the topping enough, but for next time I know! =)
