  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 2 sticks Margarine
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2-⅓ cups White Flour

Cream sugars and margarine together. Add vanilla and egg. Sift soda into flour and combine with creamed mixture.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 450F for 10-12 minutes.

Can you use cookie cutters with these to make shaped cookies?

All I can say is YUM. Simple ingredients, quick to throw together and delicious! Baked at 350. I also halved the recipe but used the whole egg – turned out just fine.

Made this with my 8-year daughter after school. The dough is fantastic; not sticky, not crumbly. I agree the temp needs to be decreased to 350 – at 450 the first pan came out like molten sugar. Adjusted the time and the rest came out great. Plenty sweet – I think the addition of dried fruit would be great.

Really good. I decreased temp to 350 and still baked at about 10 minutes and turned out great just like pic. Thank you for a great and easy cookie recipe!
