It’s a tradition in my family to bake classic spritz cookies. The kids are always involved and I can’t remember a holiday season without these tasty little butter cookies.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, milk, vanilla, and almond extract; beat well.
Stir together flour and baking powder; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Mix to make a smooth dough. Do not chill. Place dough in your cookie press and press cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar, if desired.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until very lightly browned around edges. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 8 dozen cookies.

Made these tonight and they were wonderful! I used a different recipe last time I made them and they were not near as good as these were.

I’ve been making this type of cookie every Christmas, and had misplaced my recipe. Thanks so much for posting this! These make a great addition to a holiday cookie tray…and the kids love decorating them! My recipe called for shortening…so I think I may just prefer yours more!! Thanks again!

Sounds great! What brand cookie press do you use? I’ve been searching for one that won’t break after the first batch!
