It has been a holiday tradition to make these soft sugar cookie cut outs since I was a little girl. They bring back many memories growing up and I have now passed the tradition on to my family.
Cream butter, sugar and mix well together. Add vanilla, lemon juice and eggs; mix well. Add flour and baking powder; mix well. Place dough on waxed paper and wrap in foil. Chill overnight in the fridge.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll dough out with a rolling pin and flour. Use cookie cutters. Bake for 5 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
Frost with your favorite frosting. I prefer Pillsbury French Vanilla or Buttercream for my cookies.
