Description

These cookies are my brother’s absolute favorite, so I like to make them when I know he’s going to be around! They are also know as Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies, Cow Splatters, Preacher’s Cookies, and Children Can Barely Wait Cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter Or Margarine
  • ½ cups Milk
  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • ¼ cups Cocoa
  • ½ cups Peanut Butter, Smooth Or Chunky
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2-½ cups Quick Oatmeal

Preparation

Melt butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add milk, sugar, and cocoa, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Bring pot to boil over medium-high heat and boil mixture for a full two minutes WITHOUT stirring! I know it’s tempting to stir it; don’t! This is the secret to great cookies! Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla, stirring well to melt the peanut butter. Add oatmeal and mix well again. Quickly drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper and try to let the cookies set before you begin eating them!

I’ve made no bake cookies for YEARS, but have never not stirred it while boiling…which would explain why they were usually very sugared. These turned out PERFECTLY! Thanks so much.

Absolutley delicious! I’ve been making these for over two years now and I still think it’s the best recipe I’ve come across. So simple and so yummy!
