These are my Mom’s famous chocolate fudge cookies, which have been fattening our family for 75 years and counting!
Preheat oven to 375.
1. Beat brown sugar and shortening together until well combined. Add egg, milk, and vanilla, and mix until fully incorporated.
2. Mix remaining ingredients in a separate bowl and then add to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
3. Drop dough by the spoonful onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes; do not over bake!
Makes 12-16 cookies or so, depending on how much dough you eat first.

These turned out great! I am thinking of adding a glaze or a little bit of frosting to the top. The recipe is really easy to follow. I ended up with about 22 cookies out of the recipe.
